Oblation for Wealth

May all the streams together flow as weal, together the birds and also the winds. May they all enjoy this my sacrifice as of old, I offer this oblation most humbly.

Come hither straight to my invocation, ye all confluents, increase this man, let every beast come hither, let wealth ever stay in him.

The streams of the rivers which flow together, ever unexhausted, with all these confluences, may the riches flow unto us together.

The streams of ghee and of water and milk which flow together, with all these confluence may the riches flow unto us together.

Against Demons

May mighty Agni, the demon-slayer give us courage against the devourers, who on the night of the new moon have arisen in throngs.

If our kine thou slayest, if our horses or our men, we pierce thee with this lead, that thou may not slay our heroes.

To Stop the Flow of Blood

The women that go yonder, veins in red garments, like brothless sisters, bereft of strength, may stand still.

Stand still lower one, stand still higher one, do thou in the middle stand still. May the tiniest vein stand still, and may the great artery stand still.

Of the hundred arteries, and the thousand veins, and those in the middle, have all really stood still, and then their ends have ceased together to flow.

Charm to Remove Unlucky Marks

May Savitar drive out the trouble from her feet. May Varuna, Mitra, Aryaman drive it out from her hands; may Anumati kindly drive it out of us. The Gods have generated this woman for good fortune.

Whatever fierceness is in thyself, in thy body or hair, or in thy look, all that do we smite away with our words of charm. May God Savitar prosper thee.

Against the Foes

Let not the piercing arrows strike us, nor let them hit us. Far away from us, make the volley of arrows fall, O Indra, dispersing on either side.

Dispersing on either side the arrows shall fall, those that are hurled and those that shall be hurled. Ye divine arrows and ye of men, pierce my enemies.

Who so would assail us, whether he be a stranger, or one of our own, the kinsman or the outsider, those my enemies, may Rudra pierce with a volley of arrows.

Him who rivals us, or does not rival, him who curses us in hate, him let all the Gods injure. May my incantation protect me from within.

Against Enemies and Their Weapons

Be kind to us, O God Soma, be gracious to us, O Maruts, in this sacrifice. May not portent find us, nor an imprecation nor the hateful wrong.

Whatever missiles or weapons are hurled by the malignant today, do ye Gods, Mitra and Varuna, keep them off from us.

Verily a great Governor art thou, wonderous Destroyer of the foes, whose friend is never slain, and is never overcome.

Against Enemies

Thou, Vritra-slayer, lord of the men, giver of blessings, remover of haters, go before us, Indra, the Bull, Soma-drinker, bestowing fearlessness.

Smite far away our foes, O Indra, humble him who challenges us. Send him down to nether darkness who would injure us.

Drive away demons and foes, break into pieces the Vritra's jaws. O Indra, thou Vritra-slaying, quell the fury who threatens us.

Baffle the foeman's mind, ward off his deadly weapon who would wound us. Give us protection, keep his murdering weapon afar.

Charm Against Jaundice

Let both the heart-ache jaundice go up to the sun. In the colour of the red bull we enwrap thee.

With red colours we enwrap thee unto longevity. May this man be free from yellow colour and complaints.

To parrots and to startlings do we give away thy jaundice, and furthermore let it be transferred to Haritala trees.

Against Leprosy

Night-born art thou, O herb, dark, black, sable one. Do thou, rich in colour, stain this leprosy and spot.

The leprous and grey spots, make thou disappear from here, let thine own colour settle, drive away the white spots hence.

Sable is thy secret place, sable thy home, sable art thou, O herb, drive away from here the speckled spots.

The suparna (eagle) was born first and thou wast its gall; then the Asuri woman having conquered gave it to the forest trees for their colour.

She was the first to make this remedy for the leprous spot this remover of leprosy. She has made the leprous spot disappear and made the skin of even colour.

Even Colour is the name of thy mother. Even Colour is the name of the father, thou producing even colour, make this spot of even colour!

Against Fever

When Agni entered the waters, the gods who maintain the law, paid homage, there, they declare, is thy place of birth on high, O fever (Takman), do fuel for us and avoid us.

Whether thou art a flame, or heat, or whether from licking chips of wood thou art born, by name Hrudu art thou, O god of the yellow one, then do feel for us and avoid us, O Takman!

I pay homage to cold fever and to the deliriously hot, to the one that returns every other day, on two successive days, to the fever that returns every third day, be my homage.

For God's Protection

Far off be from us your missiles, O Gods, far be the bolt that you hurl!

May a generous king be our friend, may a companion be to us Indra, Bhaga and Savitar of wonderful favours!

O ye brave and high-born ones, like sun in splendour and overthrower of foes, grant us large protection and happiness.

Be thou gracious to ourselves, show kindness to our offspring and advance our joys and happiness.

Against Evils

Thrice-seven, stand the enemy forces yonder on the further spot, like a she-snake, out of their sloughs. We wrap up the eyes of them, the malignant foes, with these sloughs.

Neither have they been ever together, nor could they venture anything being weak. May the enemies, the malignant ones, be unsuccessful like bamboo-sprouts!

Move forward ye two feet, be quick to take us to the houses of our bestowers; let Indrani, the Indra's might, go first unscathed, unrobbed in front.
