Jai Maa Durga |

All the stale and multiplied Raktbeejas being slain, the real Raktbeeja was beside himself with horrible rage. He was being tormented by the fear of his own death. He thought if he did not kill Durga, she would kill him. Thinking thus he pounced upon Durga at a terrific speed with bare sword in his hand.
Durga retaliated with her fatal trident which hurled Raktbeeja to the ground with a great thud. Then the agile lion came down upon him and tore him to pieces with his sharp claws. Kali directed the whole blood flowing from his body into her Khappar. No blood drop could stain the earth.
Bereft of blood Raktbeeja fell into deadly slumber for ever.
The joy of the Gods knew no bounds with the death of Raktbeeja.
When Shumbha and Nishumbha heard the news of the killing of Raktbeeja, their anger knew no bounds.
Now Nishumbha took the initiative who attacked Durga with his sword. But Durga was quick enough to send him to the abode of death with a stroke of her trident.
The lone survivor demon-king Shumbha roared aloud to fight Durga. Then in a trice all the female soldiers merged into Durga.
Then she pierced Shumbha to death with her fatal and invincible trident.
