May Indra, listen to our these prayers uttered in praise and supplication. May the almighty Maghavan with his thought favouring come unto us to drink of this Soma draught. For him, the refulgent God, the sovereign, heaven and earth have been fashioned forth with power and strength. Thou long for the Soma draught. Thou art the foremost and peerless amongst the Gods, the art present in their assembly. Drink to thy fill, O Indra, lord of wealth, the expressed juice. Thou art famed far and wide, as lord of bay steeds, victor in the fray, conquering even the unconquerable! O Indra, lord of infinite strength, assist us with all thy aids to gain us renown. May we verily follow thee, the hero, the giver of wealth. O God, thou art the increaser of our steeds and multiplier of our kine. Thou art a golden well for none can impair thy gifts. Give me whatever thing I ask for! Come thou Indra, to thy devotee to make him rich. Fill thyself full with the juice. O Indra, Maghavan and grant us kine and steeds. Thou, as thy boon bestowest many hundred kinds of riches, yea, many thousand kinds of riches. We the learned singers have brought our hymns of praise for acquiring your grace, O Indra, the dismantler of the forts!

O Indra, make us fearless from that whereof we are afraid! Help us, O Maghavan, for thou art competent to protect us. Drive away our foes and enemies! For thou, O generous God, art verily the Lord of prosperity and home. So we with our Soma shed, call on thee, the song lover. Thou, the Vritra-slayer, art our guard and the best defence against the enemy. May he guard us from all sides, protect us from behind and before, preserve our last and middle most. Guard us from behind, below, above, in front, on all sides, protect us from behind and before, preserve our last and middle most. Guard us from behind, below, above, in front, on all sides, protect us well. Hold away from us the terror sent from heaven, and fatal weapons. Protect us, Indra, each today, each tomorrow, and each following day! Thou lord of the heroes, preserve us, thy singers, through all days, both by day and by night! O God, thy arms, exceedingly strong, wield the thunderbolt. Thou art passing rich, a matchless hero endowed with all manly powers.

Though, O Indra, thou art called by men from all sides, they invoke thee from east and west, from north and south, yet come here quickly borne forth by fleet steeds. Thou takest delight in effulence of heaven, rich in light or in the Soma juice shed by thy devotees. With songs I invoke thee, O Indra, most rich in wealth as a cow to benefit us, for the enjoyment of Soma draught. O God! Thou, Maghavan would be praised in songs as great, strong and of mighty deeds, come here to drink of the soma draught. Come, sit on our sacred grass, the Soma is shed, the feast is ready, we, thy devotees are calling thee. O Indra, thou are the life of men, come to us, O lord of plentitude. We call on thee now. The men have milked out of the Soma juice with stones, the nectareous drink. Drink of it and be pleased. Neglect all other pious men skilled in hymns. Come here quickly to grant us high fame. May our King, who gives me spotted kine decked in gold ornaments, rest in peace unharmed. He has given me a gift of gold, pure shining and of great value besides a thousand kine.
