- and who have no other way of salvation but you – it is in their hearts, O Rama, that you should dwell. Those who look upon another’s wife as their own mother and to whom another’s wealth is the deadliest of all poisons;

- who rejoice to see another’s prosperity and are sore distressed at his misfortune; to whom, O Rama, you are dear as their own lives – in their hearts be your blessed abode

To whom, dear Lord, you are at once master and companion, father, mother and guru and everything else – be their hearts your temple, you two brothers, wherein with Sita to abide.

Those who disregard the evil in others and pick out what is good and endure hardships for the sake of Brahmans and cows; who have established their reputation in the world for their knowledge of the rules of propriety – their soul is your excellent abode.

He who attributes his virtues to you and holds himself responsible for his sinfulness; who fixes all his hopes on you and loves Rama’s (your) votaries – in his heart dwell, you and Sita.

He who renounces his caste and kinsmen, wealth, duty and glory, his dear kinsfolk and happy home, and treasures in his soul yourself alone – in his heart, O Raghunatha, take up your abode.

He to whom heaven and hell and liberation (from birth and death) are all one – for he beholds but you everywhere armed with bow and arrows – and who is your servant in thought and word and deed – in his heart, O Rama, make your permanent abode
