‘Blessed above all and full of merit are the birds and beasts, the creepers, trees and every kind of herb that are at Chitrakuta!’ so declared the gods throughout the day and night.

All creatures endowed with eyesight, who had an eyeful of Rama’s beauty, attained the end of their lives and were rid of sorrow. Motionless objects, touched by the dust of his feet, were gladdened and became eligible for attaining the highest state (blessedness).

That forest and hill, where that ocean of bliss (Rama) made his abode was full of native loveliness and brought blessing to all and even sanctified the holy. How can one describe the glory of that spot?

The exquisite beauty of the forest where Sita, Lakshmana and Rama came and settled, taking leave of the Ocean of Milk and abandoning Ayodhya, could not be described even by a hundred thousand Sheshas (each with a thousand pairs of tongues).

Then how can I describe it any more than a tortoise living in a puddle can lift up Mount Mandara? Lakshmana waited upon Rama in thought and word and deed with an amiability and devotion more than one could tell.

Gazing on the feet of Sita and Rama every moment and conscious of the love they bore him, Lakshmana never recalled even in his dreams his younger brother (Shatrughna), father, mother or even his home

In Rama’s company Sita lived in happy life, forgetting her city (Ayodhya), family and home. Ever watching the moonlike face of her beloved lord, she was as enraptured as the partridge looking on the moon.
