Tell me, my son, who can exalt him who has such noble sons as Rama, Lakshmana, yourself and Shatrughna?

The king was blessed in every way; it is no use grieving for him. Hear this and be discreet, and cease to sorrow; obediently submit to the royal command.

The king has bestowed the kingship on you, and you must honour your father’s word. He abandoned Rama for the sake of his word and made an offering of his body in the fire of Rama’s loss.

The king valued not his life as he did his word; honour, then, my son, your father’s word; bow your head to the royal command, for in obedience lies your highest good.

Parashurama obeyed his father’s order and slew his mother, as all the world bear witness; and Yayati’s son (Puru) surrendered to him his youth and incurred neither sin nor disgrace for obedience to his father’s command.

Those who cherish their father’s word, with no thought of right or wrong, are crowned with happiness and glory and dwell in the abode of Indra, the king of heaven

Then of a surety redeem the king’s word; cherish your subjects and cease to grieve. The king will receive comfort in heaven, while you will earn merit and honour and shall incur no blame.
