Raghunatha is the home of modesty and meekness, extreme guilelessness of disposition, compassion and love. He has never injured even an enemy; and I, though I have done him wrong, am his son and servant.

Believing then, that this will lead to my well-being, be pleased, sirs, to permit me to depart and give me your gracious blessing that on hearing my supplication and recognizing me as his servant, Rama may return to his capital.

Though I was born of a wicked mother and am iniquitous and ever guilty, I am confident that Rama will know me for his own, and not abandon me.’

Bharata’s words pleased all, imbued as they were with the nectar of devotion to Rama. In Tantrik philosophy the bija mantras are believed to contain the essential elements of the most powerful mystical charms. A charm with its seed bija – is exceedingly effectual.)

The mothers, the ministers, the preceptor and the people of the city were al overwhelmed with the vehemence of their affection and praised Bharata again and again, saying, ‘Your body is the very personification of devotion to Rama.

It is no wonder that you should say so, dear Bharata, for Rama loves you as his own life! The vile man who in his ignorance hates you because of your mother’s perversity,

- that wretch shall abide in hell for a hundred aeons with countless generations of his line. A jewel on the head of a serpent is not affected by the sins and baseness of the serpent; on the other hand, it is an antidote to poison and puts an end to pain and poverty.
