When the water of the Karmanasa joins the celestial stream (the Ganga), then tell me, who would not pour it on his head! The whole world knows Valmiki became as good as Brahma (God himself) by repeating the Name (Rama) backwards.

Even a Chandala, a Shavara (Bhil), a Khasa, a Yavana, a Kol or a Kirata, ignorant and base though he be, by uttering the Name of Rama becomes wholly pure and renowned through all the spheres.

It is no wonder; it has been so age after age; who is there whom Raghunatha has not exalted? Thus did the gods glorify Rama’s Name, and the people of Ayodhya rejoiced as they heard the praise.

Bharata affectionately greeted Rama’s friend (Guha) and enquired after his health and welfare; and when he saw Bharata’s amiability and affection, the Nishada was at once utterly overpowered.

Ever greater grew his bashfulness, love and soul’s delight, so that he stood gazing at Bharata with unwinking eyes. Then collecting himself, he again bowed at Bharata’s feet and with folded hands lovingly submitted.

‘Now that I have beheld your lotus feet, which are the very fountain of happiness, I have accounted myself blessed in time past, present and to come. Now, my lord, by your supreme grace my good fortune is assured for millions of generations.

Reflecting on my past deeds and my descent and again considering the Lord’s greatness, he who does not devote himself to Rama’s feet must be a victim of divine delusion in this world.
