The insects that swarmed upon the earth have perished with the advent of the autumn, just as a man who has found a holy guru is rid of all doubt and error.


The rains are over and the clear season of autumn has arrived; yet, brother, we have no news of Sita. If I could once know of her whereabouts, however it might be, I would conquer Death himself and recover her in an instant.


Wherever she may be, if only she still lives, brother, I would strive to bring her back. Now that Sugriva has got a kingdom, a treasury, the amenities of city life and his own spouse, he has quite forgotten me.


Tomorrow I shall slay the fool with that same arrow with which I slew Bali.’ Could he, Uma, whose very grace rids one of pride and infatuation, ever dream of being angry?


Only enlightened sages who have a hearty devotion to the feet of Raghunatha can comprehend the mystery of these actions of his. When Lakshmana found the Lord angry, he strung his bow and grasped his arrows.


Then Raghunatha, whose compassion knew no limits, instructed his brother, saying, ‘Sugriva is our friend, brother; only threaten him and bring him here.’


There (at Ksihkindha) Hanuman, the Son of the Wind, thought to himself, ‘Sugriva has forgotten the task entrusted to him by Rama.’ So approaching Sugriva, he bowed his head at his feet and admonished him by employing all the four modes of conduct.
