Each of these monkeys is as mighty as Sugriva, and there are myriads like them; who can dare count them? By the grace of Rama they are unequalled in strength and regard the three spheres as of no more account than a blade of grass.

I have heard it said, O Ten-headed, that the monkey captains alone number eighteen billions, and in their army, O king, there is not a single monkey who could not conquer you in battle.

They are all itching to attack in excess of passion, but Raghunatha does not order them (to march). ‘We shall dry up the ocean with all its fish and serpents, or fill it up with mighty mountains,

- and then crush the Ten-headed and reduce him to dust!” Such were the words the monkeys uttered. Fearless by nature, they roared and bullied as if they would swallow up Lanka entire!

All the monkeys and bears are born warriors and, besides, they have Lord Rama for their commander. O Ravana, they could vanquish even millions of Deaths in battle!

Not even a hundred thousand Sheshas could describe the greatness of Rama’s refulgent glory and might and wisdom. With a single shaft he could dry up hundred seas; yet, being a master of propriety, he took advice of your bother (Vibhishana),

and in response to his suggestion and the compassion filling his heart asked Ocean to afford him passage.’ On hearing this, the Ten-headed laughed and said, ‘If that’s the sort of wisdom he possesses, no wonder he should have monkeys for his allies!
