First of all, Bhavani, he expounded with fervent devotion the meaning of the Holy Lake of Rama’s Acts. Then he told the story of Narada’s unbounded infatuation and of Ravana’s birth as a demon.

Thereafter he sang the story of the Lord’s incarnation and then recounted with deep interest his childish sports.

After relating all his various boyish sports with the utmost rapture of soul, he next told of the sage’s (Vishvamitra’s) arrival at Ayodhya and the marriage of the Lord Raghubira.

Then he recounted the episode of Rama’s coronation and how the festivities connected with the installation were cut short by Dasharath’s solemn pledge (to Kaikeyi); the citizens’ sorrow at parting and the dialogue between Rama and Lakshmana;

Their journey to the forest, the devotion of the boatman, the crossing of the Ganga and the stay at Prayaga. He described also the Lord’s meeting with the sage Valmiki, and how the Blessed Lord dwelt at Chitrakuta.

He then told of the minister’s (Sumantra’s) return to the city and the king’s death, and of Bharata’s return to Ayodhya and the greatness of his devotion (to Rama); how after performing the king’s obsequies Bharata with all the citizens betook himself to where the all-blissful Lord Rama was.

Then he related how Raghunatha did all he could to console him and how he took the Lord’s sandals and returned to the city of Ayodhya; Bharata’s mode of life at Nandigrama, the (mischievous) conduct of Indra’s son, Jayanta, and the Lord Rama’s meeting with Atri.
